Warm Up Exercises Before Doing Cardio

It is always advisable to do exercises in order to keep your body fit, strong and free from diseases. But one should not carry on with any kind of exercises especially the cardio exercises before doing some warm up exercises. Sudden start of cardio exercises may have some negative impact on your body which will ultimately lead to deterioration of health. Warm up exercise simply means to do some aerobic exercise to make your body warmed up. Warm up exercises before cardio help you in various possible ways. They increases the temperature of your body gradually and there is less chance to have your tear in your muscles while doing the cardio exercise. It also helps in proper blood circulation, which is very much important while doing some strenuous cardio exercise. Warm up exercise before the cardio will make to heart rate increase at a slow and gradual pace. If you directly start with your cardio then the heart rate will increase tremendously in a short span of time and you will feel exhausted very quickly. Hence, before the cardio it is necessary to do some warm up exercises at least for 10 minutes. even if you are in a hurry.

Here Are Some Warm Up Exercises That You Should Perform Before Doing Your Cardio Exercises.

Arm Cross Over

One of the most simple and effective leg stretching warm up. Just lie down on your exercise mat and turn towards the right side by keeping your left leg in perpendicular direction and your right leg straight. Keep both your arm straight in front of you. Staying in this position try to rotate your torso towards the right direction and keep rotating until your left hand and the upper side of your back has completely touched the floor. Stay in this position for 5 secs and then return back to the original position. Switch your side and repeat the entire procedure towards the left side. Repeat the exercise for 4-5 times each for both the position.

Back Twist

Just lie upside down with your legs straight and arms extending out. Bend your right knee and start rotating your right hip with your leg up until the right foot touches the left side. Stay like that for 5-10 secs and then rotate the the position on the left side. Continue the warm up exercise alternatively for 10 times before the start of your cardio exercise.

Jumping Jack

Stand up straight with your feet together and hand by your side. Raise your hands straight up in the air and jump simultaneously in order to spread your legs wide. Without stopping quickly reverse your movement. Repeat the same for 10-20 times. One of simplest form of exercise which you can perform without causing any difficulty.

Forward Squats

Another form squats, usually done to give a proper muscular structure of your abs. Very simple to perform the exercise. Bend your body and keep your right leg in front position while stretching your left leg and the fingers of your hands must be touching the floor in order to perform the squat. Repeat the same by keeping the left leg in front position and stretching the right leg. Continue the exercise in both positions for 10-15 times.

Forward Squats

Knee Lifts

Just stand up straight and gradually rise up your opposite knee to touch the alternate hand. Perform the exercises for 10-20 times with alternate knees.

Beside these exercises one can also do cycling or swimming for warm up exercises.
