Couch Exercises For A Toned Body

You have had a really tiring routine since days and so now you decide to take some days off from work. You decide to stay indoors and become a couched potato munching into food and doing no chores of the day. At times, such break from work is good for the body and mind. But is it advisable to skip your work regime as well. Here I shall give you some ideas to stay fit by doing some workouts even while sitting on your comfortable couch. Tricep Dips

Seat yourself on the edge of a couch with the palms placed on the cushion that should be at hips width apart. Now, make the butt hang on the edges of the couch by lowering the elbows. Lower yourself downward and make your left foot go away from the ground. Make the toes pointed and extend the leg as much as you can. Repeat this for 10-20 times in 3 repetitions. This exercise mainly targets the arms.

Bicycling On The Couch

Seat yourself on the edge of your couch, tighten the abs and lean back to come to a 45 degree angle. Stretch put the legs in front of you and keep them off the ground. Keep the hands clasped in front of you and open out the elbows. Now move the legs as you paddle in a bicycle and touch the right elbow with the left knee and the left arm with the right knee. Do this for 20 times in 3-5 repetitions. This exercise tones the abs and legs.

Knee And Toe Touch

Lie on your side on the couch with the head on the arm. Bend the knees forward at an angle 45 degree and point out the toes. Now, alternately touch the knees while you raise the toes and touch the toes while raising the knee. Repeat the same for the other side. Do this for 10 times for each side.
This exercise is good for the stretch of legs and knees.

Plank Walk

While sitting on the couch, place the palms on the ground. Now come to the plank position keeping the legs and body in a straight line. Step your left foot out as you bring the right hand next to the left hand. Also step your right foot out as you bring the left hand next to the right hand. As you reach the end of the couch reverse the direction of this exercise. This exercise helps to tone the abs and legs.

Stand some feet away in front of the couch and bend the left knee to place the left foot on the cushion. Keep the hands on the hips and bend the other knee to bring the torso to the ground. Do this for 10-15 times on each leg. This exercise strengthens the legs and hips.

Lie on the couch on your side with the arm under the head. Keep the legs and toes extended and lift one leg up towards the ceiling. Repeat the same for the other side after doing this exercise for 10-15 times for each leg. Thus exercise targets the butt and thighs.

Bottom Up Exercise

Lie on your face on an armless chair with the legs hanging from the edges of the couch. Keep the knees and toes extended and keep the palms touching firmly on the ground. Now, squeeze the butt to lift the legs towards the ceiling. Do this for 10-15 times. This exercise targets the arms and the core.

Seated Scissors

Sit on the edge of the couch keeping the back straight. Lengthen the legs in front of you and crisscross them and move them too as you do with a scissor. Do this for 25-30 times. This helps to achieve strong and good shaped legs.
