Health is one of the main concerns of the people of today, with people having jobs in comfortable offices and long drawn working hours no one can find time to look after one’s own help, not just that , this time crunch one faces makes it harder for people to cook their own food, which is where the fast food industry comes into play and with them comes their fatty fried food .

The stress of modern life, coupled with the unhealthy food and lack of physical activity leads to serious health hazards such as high blood pressure, obesity, heart diseases, depression etc ,so basically, all of these features of modern life are in a way increasing mans standard of living but are very detrimental to modern mans health.

Physical exercise is a must for everyone who wants to live a long and healthy life free of diseases or at least keeping them to a minimum. Now to take our first step into fitness we should note that we should never overwork ourselves, get ample rest and eat sufficient food and not to mention healthy food.

To begin with we always need to warm up, it’s just to warm up your muscles so that that they don’t get cramps or suffer injuries during the real performance of the exercises, you should always stretch too, just to get those joints loose and muscles relaxed.

Now the best way to warm up and work out at the same time would be to speed walk or if you can manage to then jog. What this does is really works your cardio and you’ll notice just after a few days of running that you don’t feel as tired as you used to before.

It is often seen among people who work out is that some of them may have a lot of muscle but can barely run a mile if asked to, they lack stamina, and that’s what’s actually needed if you were to call yourself physically fit. Start off with around 5 minutes of jogging and then later as you get more comfortable add 5 more minutes to you work out and take it max to 20 mins.

Next thing you can do right at the comfort of your home are push-ups, these are great for your core strength and work multiple sets of muscles every time you perform these, well to do these you just face down and place your hands slightly wider than shoulder width apart, then you place your toes on the ground with your back straight ,after that you basically push yourself up and then go down again and repeat this whole motion around 10-12 times, doing at least three sets.

Squats

Squats are something you can try after a set of challenging push-ups spree. Here what you do is keep your feet about shoulder width apart and your back in a straight position with your hands tucked in front or set straight out parallel to the ground, now you just go down bending your knees slowly, and then get up.

Do around 15 of these of at least 3 sets and you’ll be good to go. These are great for your quadriceps, hamstrings and gluteals.

Squats

Next you can try out abdominal crunches, this is mainly to keep your tummy tucked in. what you do here is that you lay down on the floor, with your knees bent , keeps your hands behind your head, and then raise yourself up and go down again, remember to keep your back straight, i.e. your neck should be in line with your spine else it could lead to muscle pulls in your neck and shoulders. Try to pull off around 10 of these in about 3 sets.

Now don’t mistake the fact that you need to exercise to stay in shape, you can do all these by incorporating a few activities in your life as well, for instance yoga is a great way of living where you can attain physical and mental well being  and if you like to dance, its not to bad to turn up the system and just let your body fly for 20 minutes may be, that’s a great way to build stamina and lose those calories and stay free from diseases.
